Celebrating Our Nurses
By Terence Offenberger, MD, MBA, FACP , chief medical officer, Brown & Toland Physicians
From the moment we are born, most of us are touched by the waiting hands of a nurse dedicated to providing us a healthy start in life. And, over the course of our lifetimes, we look to nurses like you as our constant connection to care.
The last two years have shown this to be as true as ever. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many people’s eyes were opened to the complexity of the nursing profession and the remarkable skill and compassion that you bring to your work every day. In spite of the anxiety, long hours and uncertainty about what the following day would bring, each of you continued to put the needs of patients first, ensuring that everyone received the care they needed.
Brown & Toland Physicians is proud to recognize our nurses during National Nurses Week, and throughout the year. We see your passion to comfort and desire to care and are humbled to work alongside you every day.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who works tirelessly to support our nurses and care teams. Each of you, together with our physicians, contribute to the positive experience of the patients you serve.
Finally, as I look back on my first year serving as chief medical officer of Brown & Toland Physicians, I recognize how honored I am to be working with our nurses in service to our patients and their families. I applaud your hard work, expertise and compassion, and I appreciate your commitment to safety, quality and innovation. Thank you for the invaluable role you play in improving the health of communities across the Bay Area.
