Brown & Toland Donates $20,246 to Partners In Health for Haiti Earthquake Fund
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (February 17, 2010) Brown & Toland Physicians announced today a $20,246 donation to the Partners In Health (PIH) Haiti Earthquake Fund.
“Employees donated generously to this effort. We are so pleased to be able to make this contribution,” said Gloria Austin, Brown & Toland’s Chief Executive Officer.
The day following the disaster, Austin encouraged employees to give generously and announced that Brown & Toland would match one dollar for every dollar they donated, up to $10,000. The 250 employees of Brown & Toland responded, in a big way. “We were blown away by the response,” said Fiona Wilson, M.D., Brown & Toland’s Chief Quality Officer, who has been involved with Partners In Health since its inception nearly 25 years ago. “I am so impressed and humbled by the kindness and generosity of our employees.” A giant check for PIH was unveiled February 11 at a company meeting.
“Our employees are really the heart of this organization,” added Austin. “Supporting an organization with equally dedicated employees and volunteers such as Partners In Health felt like the right thing to do.”
